Day 30 Friday May 9

No Travel Day

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo
Temp: 40 degrees C
Sunny & Hot

Started a lazy day with coffee and croissants and went on a shopping tour; I needed a decent pair of flip-flops and sue was looking for a beach wrap (she is cooked, done to a turn deep fried and crispy!!) Vinegar, vinegar, vinegar… all day long…..vinegar...

And yet we spent the afternoon at the beach! Sue stayed pretty much submerged. Around three we decided to go looking for a place to do some snorkeling(we brought our own gear) but there was nowhere suitable that was free or accessible without a boat, so tomorrow we may rent a launch to the reefs.

While we were out we toured the perimeter of the island from one end to the other. We are getting a lot of questions about the bikes, they don’t usually see anything this size around and they are curious as to where we came from. The kids whistle, and wave and hoot when we go by and the cars and mopeds and scooters all blow their horns, people wave out of the windows of their homes and from their boats.

A lot of talk in the town about the Canadians who came by Moto! It’s all a bit embarrassing….

After an early supper back at the hotel we went for a sunset swim. We were the only ones in the water when we got there, lots of tourists at the beach bars, I guess when the sun goes down people rather drink than swim. We owned the whole beach!

Back to the hotel by nine for showers and some reading….another wonderful day in paradise with my Susie!
