Rocky Harbour
Gros Morne Nat. Park

Surprise! The sun was up when we woke in the tent this morning. Such a treat!
We had a leisurely breakfast as the sky looked clear and we anticipated a great day for the motorbike ride. A good one for Guillaume from Quebec as well. We met him at the camp-ground, He is doing pretty much the same trip we are but on mountain bike towing a trailer…ballsy! By the time he had done quebec, New Brunswick and three quarters of the coast of Nova Scotia he had seen only THREE DAYS OF SUN!!!!
No worries today about wet and rain gear and bad visibility….gawd, it was so gorgeous today we felt like kids on Christmas morning waiting to see what was waiting under the tree……
And the day didn’t disappoint…. Moose, black bear, coyote, mare’s tails in an azure sky, beautiful little villages of Cow’s Head, Parson’s Pond, Port aux Choix………….stopped in at The Arches (where we ran into a bouldering couple from Calgary; actually, he was originally from Saskatchewan, she was from here) and St Anthony’s, unfortunately too late for the iceberg season.
The coastal road runs parallel to the dying end of the Long Range Mountains with an impressive revisit of the type of geology you experience at western Brook Pond for over a hundred kilometres(tail end of the Appalachian chain).
By the time you get much past Ste Barbe you’re pretty much down to tuckamore and barrens.
We pulled into Triple falls Park, ten Kms from St Anthony and about twenty five Kms from Anse aux Meadows, to tent for the night
