Day 53 Sunday June 1

Temp: 30 degrees C

Cloudy, Rain

We took a lazy morning, stopping for coffee, pastries and fresh fruit as we only planned to go as far as Samara to get some beach time and give me a chance Left LIberia, Costa Rica 11:00 AM

to unwind and let go the anger and frustration of the border robbery.

The road for the most part was quite good and the scenery was exceptional.

The web and book descriptions of the beaches in Belize, Guatemala and Honduras were disappointingly far from accurate, so it was with some trepidation that I decided on taking us so far off route for another beach.

Well I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beach at Samara was all it was touted to be!

A lovely beach with no undertow, nice big waves clean water and pristine beach with fine sand! And we have a spot with fridge, AC and fan about a twenty second walk to the water…Sweet!

We were hearing thunder and it was threatening rain when we checked in but Susie and I decided to go for a swim anyway and then went strolling on the beach until the rain was a problem for her camera.

Back to the cabana for a late supper and a lazy evening of brushing up on my Spanish.

An all round good day!
