Lazy day at the beach….

Had a really anxious moment..CRISIS!..When we got to the beach, I jumped off my bike to help push denis’s bike which was bogged down in beach sand, and off we went to swim. About three hours later Sue noticed the headlight on my bike was still on and very weak! I had forgotten to turn off the key…DEAD FLAT BATTERY…not even a click. What to do? My jumper cables must have been faulty or not strong enough because they were no help at all.

Luckily one of the locals came by with a golf cart. He had seen we were in trouble and offered us a boost but, as I said, the cables were useless sooo….I asked if he would tow me…sure…no problem, so out with the tow rope and off we go. Thirty feet later I’m up and running and I have to force my new friend to accept payment for all his trouble.

Whew!close one…did a tour of the island to re-charge the battery.

Then off to the Super Mercado for food and back to the hotel for a shower and supper then later a stroll around the town to check out the nightlife under a cool breeze. Took in part of a local outdoor basketball game between two school teams from the island….good game.
